The "Windy City" Blows Jaden Ivey Right Out of Town

In a move that surprised absolutely no one paying attention to his Twitter feed, the Chicago Bulls have officially waived shooting guard Jaden Ivey. The reason? "Conduct detrimental to the team," which is NBA-speak for "We’re tired of checking our mentions to see what you said this time."

It seems Ivey decided his true calling wasn’t hitting mid-range jumpers, but rather acting as the league’s self-appointed moral compass. After a series of social media posts that went from "devout" to "don’t-check-the-comments" real quick, Ivey finally hit the eject button on his own career by calling the NBA’s Pride Month celebrations unrighteousness. Apparently, Jaden missed the memo that the "Bulls" logo represents a basketball team, not a pulpit.

Donovan Pulls the Plug

Before Monday’s matchup against the Spurs, Coach Billy Donovan had to play the role of the exhausted parent explaining why the noisy toy had to be thrown away.

"We have people from all different kinds of backgrounds," Donovan told reporters, essentially translating to: "We’re trying to run a basketball team here, not a 15th-century inquiry."

Donovan preached the gospel of professionalism and respect—two concepts that Ivey seemingly swapped for a "Post" button and a very specific interpretation of Sunday school.

The Trade That Wasn’t

Let’s take a moment of silence for the Bulls’ front office. Back in February, they orchestrated a complex three-team dance to get Ivey and Mike Conley in the building. They shipped out Kevin Huerter, Dario Šarić, and a draft pick swap just to get this deal done.

Fast forward to today:

Mike Conley: Bought out immediately. (The "Thanks, but no thanks" approach).

Jaden Ivey: Waived for being an HR nightmare.

In the end, the Bulls traded away actual players and assets for a handful of controversial tweets and a very expensive locker room vacancy. If you’re keeping score at home, the Minnesota Timberwolves got salary cap relief, the Detroit Pistons got players, and the Bulls got a headache.

As for Jaden Ivey? He’s now a free agent. We hear there are plenty of openings in the "Shouting at Clouds" league, but as far as the NBA goes, it looks like his "righteousness" has left him with a lot of free time on Sundays—and Mondays, and Tuesdays...
