Warriors Sign Steph... Wait, Seth?
The Golden State Warriors have done it again! They've secured another sharpshooting Curry to provide offensive fireworks... but maybe not the one you were thinking of.
The team announced Tuesday they have signed veteran guard Seth Curry to a one-year deal. The news sent the Warriors faithful—and frankly, the entire NBA social media sphere—into a brief panic attack, followed by a collective realization that, no, their savior Stephen Curry is not re-signing a contract with a competing team.
The Other Splash Brother
Seth Curry, who has now joined his fifth team in as many years, is expected to provide some much-needed wing depth and, more importantly, continue his tradition of being the most efficient three-point specialist who isn't named Stephen Curry.
The 35-year-old swingman is coming off a season with the Hornets where he led the entire NBA in efficiency from beyond the arc, shooting a ridiculous 45.6 percent from three-point range. While he won't be breaking any attendance records, he will certainly force opposing defenses to respect the arc—or suffer the consequences.
The Warriors' front office is clearly hoping that proximity to his older brother will somehow unlock a final, transcendent level of shooting from Seth. Worst case? They have a reliable shooter who can confidently tell the real MVP, "Hey, I shot a better percentage than you last year."
