The Ice in Veins Edition

If you were looking for a quiet Thursday night in Grambling, Louisiana, you weren't at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The Alabama A&M Bulldogs didn't just walk into the Lady Tigers' house and leave with a win; they did it by staging a late-game heist that would make George Clooney proud.

In a game where every possession felt like a chess match played at 100 mph, Alabama A&M clawed out a 54–50 victory, extending their SWAC winning streak to a cool nine games.

The Beck-on Call

With less than two minutes remaining and the Bulldogs trailing by one, Coriah Beck decided she was tired of the drama. She stepped up and buried a cold-blooded 3-pointer that gave AAMU a lead they would never surrender. Beck finished the night with 13 points and four triples, proving once again that if the game is on the line, she’s probably the one you should be guarding.

But she wasn't alone in the "Finish It" department. Moses Davenport played the role of the ultimate enforcer, leading the team with 14 points and 9 rebounds. She sealed the deal with two ice-water-in-the-veins free throws with just 35 seconds left, effectively turning the lights out on Grambling’s comeback hopes.

A Tale of Two Halves (And a Lot of Defense)

The first half was a back-and-forth slugfest. Grambling took a narrow lead into the second quarter, but the Bulldogs responded with a 15–10 run sparked by Kalia Walker and her deep-range shooting. By halftime, AAMU held a slim 30–27 lead, mostly thanks to Davenport’s relentless work on the offensive boards.

The fourth quarter, however, was where the Bulldogs' defense really went to work. They held Grambling to a miserable 3-of-12 shooting in the final ten minutes. You know your defense is working when the opposing team is struggling to find the basket in their own gym. Shaniah Nunn (16 pts) and Alieghya Bartholomew (6 steals) did their best to keep the Lady Tigers in it, but the Bulldogs' wall was simply too tall to climb.

The SWAC Standings: Sitting Pretty

With this win, Alabama A&M moves to 13-9 overall and a dominant 9-1 in the SWAC. They are currently the hottest team in the conference, and the "W9" next to their name in the standings is starting to look like a permanent fixture.

UP NEXT: The Bulldogs aren't done with Louisiana yet. They’re taking the bus over to Baton Rouge this Saturday to face Southern at 2:30 p.m. Southern is currently sitting right behind them in the standings, so expect more fireworks
