LSU Women Treat Opponents Like Piñatas, Win Two Games by a Combined 123 Points

If you are a mid-major basketball team scheduled to play the LSU Tigers right now, you may be entitled to financial compensation for emotional distress.

Kim Mulkey’s No. 5 ranked squad (12-0) spent the week playing basketball with the mercy and compassion of a bulldozer, absolutely vaporizing Morgan State and UT-Arlington. The Tigers have now won eight games by 50 points or more this season. At this rate, the NCAA might need to institute a "running clock" rule just to let everyone go home to their families at a reasonable hour.

Here is a recap of the carnage in Baton Rouge.

The "Educational Experience"

LSU 91, Morgan State 33

On Tuesday, LSU hosted its annual "Field Trip Game," tipping off at 11 a.m. in front of thousands of screaming schoolchildren. Nothing teaches kids about the harsh realities of life quite like watching a 58-point beatdown before lunch.

LSU fed off the high-pitched energy, jumping out to a 30-9 lead after the first quarter. Mikaylah Williams and Flau’Jae Johnson scored 14 points each, and the Tigers held Morgan State to just five field goals in the final 39 minutes. Read that again. Five field goals. In 39 minutes. That is statistically harder to do than actually scoring.

The Tigers forced 25 turnovers and swiped 14 steals, including five by Kate Koval, who seemingly took the kids' "sharing is caring" lesson personally—by forcing Morgan State to share the ball with her.

The Century Club (Again)

LSU 110, UT-Arlington 45

After traumatizing Morgan State, the Tigers returned on Sunday to host UT-Arlington. The result? Another 65-point victory. It was the 10th time this season LSU has scored over 100 points. The scoreboard operator at the PMAC is currently filing for workers' comp due to repetitive stress injuries.

True freshman Grace Knox decided she wanted the spotlight, dropping a game-high 25 points with robotic consistency. Meanwhile, MiLaysia Fulwiley turned the second half into her personal highlight reel, scoring 17 of her 23 points after the break.

LSU’s defense was equally rude, holding the Mavericks under 15 points in every single quarter.

The Verdict

LSU has one more tune-up against Alabama State on Dec. 28 before SEC play starts. Alabama State, if you're reading this: Wear helmets.

The Tigers open conference play against Kentucky on Jan. 1. For the rest of the SEC, the footage from this week isn't game film; it's a horror movie.
